Baroque Rocks!

This season I've really fallen for the Baroque trend that seems to be taking over. Now I'm not usually one for picking such 'look at me' pieces but I can't help myself being drawn to the heavily embellished materials ... the gold and metallics just catch my eye every time!

Dolce & Gabbana's AW12 collection has led the way for what looks likely to be a very popular trend this winter. Drawing from their heritage, black velvet and ornate embroidery is balanced with delicate laces and floral silks to create a romantic yet dramatic look.

Instantly, I'm transported to a small Italian village ... cobbled streets, white houses, big family celebrations and churches displaying bold architecture.

September Wishlist

As you can see down the right hand side I've started a little wishlist that I'll update each month. The wishlist is made up of random things that have caught my eye and that I'm dreaming of owning!

So I know September is almost over (can time please slow down?!) but I've picked out five items that I wish were in my wardrobe right now!

First up is these hi-top wedge trainers from Ash. I love Ash footwear and last winter I was desperate for a pair of their studded biker boots (I still am!) but the past few months I keep finding myself drawn to wedge trainers. The rich berry colour (which seems to make up half of my wardrobe) and the combination of leather and suede ensure that this pair remain firmly in the sports luxe trend. The comfort factor also plays a very persuading part, although I'm not sure I'd recommend trying to run a marathon in them!

I really like patterned materials at the moment and this floral tapestry adds a vintage feel to these shorts which will be great over the winter with chunky black tights and a little pair of ankle boots.

So maybe this one is a little out of my reach but who doesn't wish they had Vintage Chanel?!

I'm a massive fan of chunky knitted jumpers and would quite happily spend my life living in them! I love this red hand knitted jumper covered in black crosses from Topshop Unique which was recently spotted on Daisy Lowe wearing it oversized and as a dress. I'm not sure I'm brave enough to wear it on it's own though!

I'm currently spritzing myself with Marc Jacobs Lola but it's rapidly running out and I'm also a fan of Marc Jacobs Daisy so I couldn't wait to try out the latest release, Dot. It's a fab floral fragrance which is made up of "top notes of red berries, mid notes of jasmine and base notes of driftwood for a bold, feminine scent"

What are your must haves for September?

JW Anderson x Topshop

Have you seen the J.W Anderson X Topshop collaboration yet? Each piece looks like you could take it and have some real fun in styling it up in different ways.

From varsity bomber jackets and spooky knitwear to printed tees and cotton tunics there's a variety of real quirky pieces that aren't as pricey as you may expect. But my favourite thing about the collection is that it doesn't stop at clothing, there's also iPhone cases, a disposable camera, an umbrella and stationary. Yes that's right, you can even buy a JW Sharpie!

And don't forget to check out the rubix cube and slap bands which add to the playful vibe of the collaboration. I find the whole collection extremely refreshing!

A Fashion Serendipity

Serendipity is all about finding something by chance. And isn't that what fashion is about too? Have you ever had that moment of discovering a new bag or pair of shoes when you least expected to and then not being able to get the picture of you holding said bag or shoes out of your head because you WANT NEED to have it? Well I get this feeling A LOT! You just never know what is waiting for you in the next shop/stall/website! Something might even take your fancy on this blog!

As I’m pretty new to blogging (I'm still working out all the technical features?!) please bear with me ...any tips would be greatly appreciated!!

This is the place where I’ll mostly chat about what’s caught my eye in the fashion world and what I’m lusting after ... something along the lines of a modern day scrap book!

I hope you enjoy and thanks for reading :)

p.s if you've never watched Serendipity with Kate Beckinsale and John Cusack, get watching!! You'll love it <3
